The MCO would notify their Case Managers and all eligible patient's currently using contractually designated products (i.e. chronic care medical supplies, home medical equipment or pharmaceuticals) to begin contacting BLN directly whenever faced with a need for said products.
BLN would set up its computer system with up to date participant eligibility (which would be updated as frequently as the Plan requires), co-insurance rules, coverage's and limitations. BLN can connect to a client's computer system through a variety of methods to more efficiently verify patient and product eligibility.
BLN would then receive the order on a doctor's prescription, verify coverage, verify medical necessity, receive any prior authorizations necessary from the Plan and deliver the product in quantities up to a ninety day supply directly (if applicable) to the participant's residence.
BLN would then invoice the Plan on a timely basis via electronic HCFA-1500 claim form or electronic pharmacy claim format. BLN would further provide supporting information to the plan as deemed necessary for the proper adjudication of our claims.
