The most effective streamlined and durable brace for the relief of thumb CMC
(basal joint) osteoarthritis.
New Push MetaGrip Strap Closure
Push Braces has redesigned the closure on the Push MetaGrip strap. The new closure “hook” tabs are black instead of purple.
- Bend the hook tabs inward to fit the contour of the back of the hand, then apply the straps. Be sure to press firmly at the tips of the straps then smooth the straps toward your thumb to assure maximum adherence.
Custom-fit the brace by squeezing the imbedded metal insert to snuggly fit your thumb.
Wear the Push® MetaGrip® while cooking, golfing, gardening, playing tennis, driving, knitting, and during all other work/household activities.

- Push Braces are guaranteed against any defect in materials or workmanship for a period of 90 days from the date of purchase.
- Warranty is voided if usage or care instructions are not followed, the brace is altered or incorrectly laundered.
The Push MetaGrip can be machine washed on gentle cycle at low temperature. Place the brace in a mesh laundry bag and be sure the straps are closed. DO NOT add bleach. DO NOT dry in dryer or wash/dry in a dishwasher.
To increase the longevity of the brace:
- Do not pull the straps too tightly; the support comes from the squeezing of the metal insert instead of from tightening the straps.
- Keep the hook and loop straps free of dirt and debris to maximize adherence.
- Do not frequently remove and reapply the MetaGrip® as that will wear the straps prematurely.
- Do not expose the brace to harsh chemicals or heavy soiling which can deteriorate the straps; use gloves during heavy cleaning or gardening.
Use a soft measuring tape to measure the circumference of your hand just below the knuckles of all fingers, excluding the thumb. Choose the appropriate size from the chart. NOTE: This measurement is only a guideline for determining size, as it cannot take into account the size/shape of your thumb. If your measurement is near the size break point, only trying on both sizes can allow you to determine the best fit.
If the Push MetaGrip does not fit snuggly or is too snug, you may exchange the Push MetaGrip for another size if:
- It has not been worn past the fitting stage
- Is returned in its original undamaged package.
- Because accurate fitting may require trying on different sizes, HandLab cannot be responsible if your measured size is not the best fit.
The Push MetaGrip is not intended for all problems of the thumb. We strongly recommend you be measured and have the fit evaluated by a medical professional.
Application Instructions:
1. Before applying the Push MetaGrip to your hand the first time, gently bend the metal insert SLIGHTLY outward so the thumb area is somewhat larger.
2. Open the straps.
3. Slide your fingers and thumb into the brace and push the brace as far down on your thumb as possible.
4. Gently, but firmly, close the straps; do NOT pull them tightly.
5. Touch your thumb tip to your index fingertip, making a gentle “O” shape, but BE SURE your thumb muscles are relaxed and the thumb joints are slightly flexed.
6. Look directly into your palm to be sure your thumb is not too far across your palm or too far out of your palm but in a mid-position.
7. With your thumb in the mid-position and relaxed, squeeze the metal insert firmly so it snuggly fits around the muscles of your thumb.
